Dermabrasion facial rejuvenation is a form of mechanical exfoliation in which a hand held spinning wheel with a textured surface is used to physically smooth out irregular surfaces and remove the superficial layers of skin. This facial rejuvenation technique is most useful for improving the appearance of facial scars from trauma or acne. It is also considered by many leading centers to be the procedure of choice for improving vertical lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Healing and recovery time are similar to a medium depth chemical peel.
